Writer's Block: It's payday! [Nov. 15th, 2011|08:15 pm]

What would you do if you had a million dollars?

I'd buy you a green dress... but not a real green dress, that's cruel.

My journey begins now. [Jun. 14th, 2011|02:32 pm]
Today is Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Apparently it's Flag Day. Not that it matters.

Today I weigh 230 pounds. I've never been this heavy in my life. None of the pants that I own fit me. I have two pairs of shorts that kind of fit me, but are tight. This is unacceptable.

I think the lowest I've ever weighed was 180 pounds. That's my first goal weight. I don't know how long it will take me to get there. However, I do have a plan.

I'm moving out of Hagerstown (where I've been for the past year or so) this weekend. I've gained at least 30 pounds in the past year.

Depression, working 2nd shift and thus not being able to spend time with anyone, and having to scavenge for food at my parents' house have all helped to pack on the pounds. Also, I haven't been walking as often as I used to, since I didn't have anyone to walk with, or anything like that. I haven't exercised, and I haven't been eating well. My diet sucks here in Hagerstown. It includes what I can afford, and what my parents have in the freezer/pantry. Not healthy.

My boyfriend is a vegetarian. When I spend weekends with him, I walk a lot (we walk to the lake near his house, around the lake, and back... or we go into DC or various other places), I eat SO MUCH HEALTHIER FOOD, and I'm less depressed. My mother doesn't understand why I'm moving out. I'm sad and tired of being so far away from everyone I want to spend time with. I miss my boyfriend throughout the week. I want to be with him. It's easier to sleep when I'm next to him, instead of an hour and a half away. At least I have snuggles with my cats in Hagerstown. But boyfriend snuggles are so much better.

I'll post updates when I think about it, or reach a milestone. I won't have my own computer for a while, since my old one is broken and I'm poor. However, after I make some monies at my new job(s), I'll get one. Otherwise, I'll borrow my boyfriend's laptop from time to time.

See you on the flip side.

Writer's Block: Revenge of the midnight movie [May. 27th, 2011|12:00 am]

What is your favorite cult film, and why?

Of course, I have to say the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Bullet Points [May. 2nd, 2011|01:10 am]
* Still living in Hagerstown with my parents.

* Working part-time (32.5 hours/week), second shift, at a data entry job. I'm starting to look into better positions elsewhere, however.

* Four classes away from my second degree. I'm taking the summer off from classes, but in the fall I'll be taking two online classes (one business, one management) and my externships for both Medical Assistant AAS degree and Phlebotomy certificate. Both of which I'll be receiving in December.

* Commuting to College Park on the weekends because that is where D is. Almost two years in, and he still puts up with me.

* Major plan is to move in with D next January. I'll be able to bring my cats!

I believe that is all.

The other day, I was talking about parental units with a few friends. I said something about my mother, and D agreed and then expanded on the topic. My friend C chastised him a bit for kind of unloading about my mother, because she doesn't believe that people should rag on anyone else's parents but their own. But I said I didn't mind, that I liked that we agreed about my mother. He said that he considers that my mother is "practically an in-law, anymore." This makes me happy. <3

I've decided a few things about my wedding, whenever it will happen.

I will have karaoke at the reception. I'll go first (of course) and I'll probably be kitschy and sing "I'll Cover You" from RENT with my new spouse.

THERE WILL BE THE TIME WARP. But not karaoke Time Warp. Just playing the version from the movie, including the Columbia tap dancing sequence. Because we will end up acting it out. Maybe we'll choose who is playing whom in advance and practice it.

Maybe we'll also be oddballs and do Thriller. considering a good number of my friends (including me!) have done Thriller as a preshow. And we were pretty good at it. So maybe that will have to return.

Quick Update [May. 5th, 2010|06:44 pm]
* I moved back in with my parents in Hagerstown.

* I'm still commuting to College Park for my job.

* I'm on the lookout for a new job that's not as far away, but is still kind of close to College Park/Rockville, since that's where David is.

* I'm a freelance writer for a newspaper and for an online magazine.

* I'm also a pirate on the weekends, sailing out of Fells Point (near Baltimore's Inner Harbor). Check out www.urbanpirates.com.

* I'm sick. I feel like ass.

David thinks livejournal is silly. I think David is silly.

"Dear diary:

Mood: apathetic."

Yup. He's the silly one.
